Description
“We are here”: Neue Sachlichkeit, Erotic Print Culture and Queer Identity Histories
This international symposium is organised in the context of a partnership between the Centre Pompidou and the Max Weber Foundation – a German centre for art history, with the support of the ComUE University Paris Lumières (UPL). It forms part of the programme around the exhibition entitled "Germany / 20s / New Objectivity / August Sander".
The symposium brings together both new and experienced international researchers from diverse horizons. It completes the exhibition by dealing with original topics and developing some of them in depth with four panels: definition of the neo-objective aesthetic, questions of reception, political ideologies and new insights into Weimar society will structure these two days. In conclusion, a conference with contemporary artists Alice Creischer and Andreas Siekmann will explore the importance of the Cologne Progressives for current creation.
