Activity: Academic and Industrial events › Conference, workshop or symposium
Description
This workshop will be part of the nationwide celebration of the 200th anniversary of the birth of the modern railway system in Britain. While numerous events across the country will commemorate this historical milestone, this workshop offers a unique academic perspective on this key turning point in Britain’s infrastructure history by connecting it to the concept of future heritage. By combining historical insights with forward-thinking discussions, the workshop aims to use history as a catalyst for critically exploring railways as heritage-in-the-making and is primarily designed for academics and heritage partners, bringing together experts from the university and beyond.
