Peer Support Group - AIMS

Activity Type: A formal working group, expert panel or dialogue. Geographical Reach: Local. Activity Years: 2015-2016. Result Description: From feedback from the recruiting site in Malawi we have initiated a peer support group; this is led by the lead research nurse. Meetings are held every 3 months and are attended by women who wish to give and share advice with other women who have experienced a pregnancy loss. The peer support group meeting recently has become more focused on teenage pregnancy and loss from their point of view. Women often attend multiple meetings and verbal feedback has been very positive. We are exploring the idea of these groups at the other centres. Result Description: Audience reported change in views, opinions or behaviours.
