Description
The Marine Institute is the Irish State agency responsible for marine research, technology development and innovation in Ireland. It provides scientific and technical advice to Government to help inform policy and to support the sustainable development of Ireland’s marine resource.
The Marine Institute partner us in the AirShip consortium (PI Stephen Jones, Co-I Zongbo Shi), which is developing the Irish national research vessel fleet as a continuous marine air quality monitoring facility.
The Marine Institute operates the Research Vessel Celtic Explorer, which we have used for multiple collaborative projects, including the PORO-CLIM project, and a site survey for International Ocean Discovery Program Expedition 395 "Reykjanes Mantle Convection and Climate".
