Description
Three members of the "fuel cells and their fuels" CDT (Chris, Sam and Liam) attended the Malvern science festival in order to promote the fuel cells research that is ongoing at the university. The audience of the festival was primary and secondary school children (along with their teachers) and, as such, it was important to pitch the discussion of the research at the correct level. We took a range of things that could demonstrate the technology in a number of different ways (i.e, the hyundai car, an animation on "how a fuel cell works" and a functioning solar panel- electrolyser-fuel cell toy. In particular, visitors of the festival seemed interested in the hyundai car and this initial interest gave us the opportunity to discuss fuel cells in a wider context.
