Description
This talk will explore the concept behind the newly established 'Julia Programming Language' Special Interest Group at the University of Birmingham. It will examine how this group, conceived as a community of practice within a supervised peer-learning environment, is currently studying the relatively new Julia programming language to accelerate research and foster interdisciplinary collaboration. By engaging with broader themes related to the open-source ecosystem, GNU/Linux, and the intersections between programming and various disciplines, the group aspires to initiate a new era of collaboration and innovation.
