Description
Prof. Pfrang was selected for his expertise to join a scoping workshop at Mary Ward House, London, co-hosted by NERC and Defra. The focus for the roundtable was to identify current priorities, gaps and opportunities for a potential new UKRI collaborative research activity on the topic of ‘Household Chemicals’. Topics included the manufacture, use, and disposal of chemicals which can result in ecosystem and/or human exposure, directly, or indirectly through exposure pathways via land, water or air, leading to ecosystem degradation, morbidity of plants and animals and negative health impacts for people. The roundtable brought together experts who discussed the current research landscape on the subject. Areas for discussion included how to enhance our ability to predict environmental exposure and potential impacts of household chemicals on the environment and public health, through the improvement of risk assessment processes that can adapt to new chemicals as they are introduced.Period | 28 Feb 2024 |
