Scripta Qumranica ElectronicaAdvisory Board of the DIP-project Scripta Qumranica Electronica The major goal of the project is the connection of two databases, the text database of the Qumran-Lexicon project of the Göttingen Academy of Sciences and Humanities and the image database of the Leon Levy Digital Library of the IAA. These resources will be made freely available to the public using the project’s interface. Within the connection, a new platform – a virtual scrollery – and several exemplary electronic editions of biblical and non-biblical texts will be created, using tools developed by the Tel Aviv partners for linking and analysing manuscripts and texts. For the description of the project, I allow myself to attach an article by one of our team members, Dr. Bronson Brown-deVost, which will appear soon in the journal HBAI. Such a huge and ambitious project needs support by the scholarly community. We therefore decided to establish an Advisory Board, which should monitor the work of the project and give advice for further work. The rights and duties of this board have yet to be defined in detail. We envision an annual meeting of the board with intermittent updates by email.
