Dealing with Land Destitution and Structural Inequalities in Transitions

Activity: Academic and Industrial eventsIndustry event

Description

Research event that brought together 36 scholars and researchers from the UK and Colombia to build research links for long-term collaboration between leading/established researchers and early career researchers in the UK and Colombia to facilitate research on whether transitional justice mechanisms, in particular reparations and guarantees of non-repetition, can contribute or offer special opportunities for addressing the links between land destitution, poverty, and structural inequalities and if so how best to use that potential. The workshop also provided the participants with an opportunity to enhance their research and networking skills by sharing their research and discussing this with established researchers from the UK and Colombia. The project was funded by the British Council Researcher Links scheme and organised by the Essex Transitional Justice Network at the University of Essex and the Instituto Pensar at Javeriana University.
