Panel: Women in Academia

This panel was organised as part of the British Academy of Management – International Business and International Management Shared Interest Group. Chaired by Marianna Marra (University of Sussex, UK), the session brought together leading scholars to discuss the experiences, challenges, and opportunities facing women in academia, particularly within the fields of International Business and International Management.

Panelists included Agnieszka Chidlow (University of Birmingham, UK), Antonella Zucchella (University of Pavia, Italy), Vicky Bamiatzi (University of Sussex, UK), and Sasha Zao (University of Surrey, UK). The discussion addressed themes such as career progression, research leadership, institutional barriers, mentorship, and strategies for fostering inclusive academic environments.

Hosted by the British Academy of Management (UK), the panel provided a platform for critical reflection and dialogue on advancing gender equity and supporting women’s leadership in academia.
