BreatHE IN Roundtable 2: Experimental investigations into everyday indoor air pollutants, human exposure and indoor air cleaning

Activity: Engagement and Public eventsEngagement event

Description

Marina (Nina) Vance, PhD, Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering and Environmental Engineering at the University of Colorado Boulder, recently shared her research into indoor air quality and human exposure to airborne pollutants. Her presentation explored findings from experimental studies examining particulate matter in laboratory chambers, test houses and occupied homes, including emissions from everyday activities such as cooking and cleaning, the infiltration of wildfire smoke, and how particles move and change indoors. Marina also highlighted evidence-based approaches for reducing exposure to indoor particulate matter and improving indoor air quality, drawing on the work of her lab, which combines laboratory experiments, test-house studies and field measurements to better understand and protect human health.
